Sacrament and repentance

Hola todos!

Wow the time really flies in the mission! This week was great! I learned a lot about the sacrament and repentance and how important they really are!

We had a Multi-zona with Elder Falabella and Elder Held (I think that was his name) They are the Elders of the 70 that are over our area! It was soooo great!! One of the biggest points was the importance of teaching repentance. I love this because repentence truly is such an amazing gift for all of us! And the sacrament is such an awesome opportunity to show our desire to follow Christ and remember Him ALWAYS, not only sometimes.

Elder Falabella shared a thought:
Do you only need to eat one day of the week?
Answer: No, you need to eat everyday to live. It is the same with the scriptures. It doesn't matter how much you read, it is only important that you read every day. It is the same with the sacrament. You cannot only partake of the sacrament sometimes and not every sunday. The sacrament is a commandment of God. (2NE 18). The sacrament is a huge part of the doctrine of Christ. The sacrament is the opportunity for us to remember Christs sacrifice for each one of us. It is the opportunity for us to figuratively touch the marks in His hands, feet, and side. (2NE 11:14).

Another thing to think about:
In a world where nobody seems to have enough time, but where people also waste so much of it. Elder Falabella said, ¨Life is composed of time. If we waste time, we waste life.¨ WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR TIME? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?

This week we had an activity with our zone in which we went on splits with members to find new people in one of the areas in our zone. I went with 2 hermanas in the ward and we started knocking on doors. We knocked on one door and it was of an older man and he was alone. He let us in and we began to talk with him about his life and family. Turns out that his wife died about a year ago. We shared with him about how families can be eternal. Then 2 of his daughters and their kids entered into the house and we shared a message with all of them. Wow. What a family of Gold. #oro God knew that this family needed to here our message of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his plan for us! The spirit was so strong and we were able to get all of their contacts for the elders that are in that area! I cannnot explain how amazing it is to be able to share this message of the gospel of Jesus Christ with people. This message of hope, love, and eternity!

Presidente gave us new norms of excelencia for the whole mission! They are metas to accomplish and they are high numbers but it has all of us pumped for the work!! It is so awesome because now we are contacting so many people everyday in the calle (street), by knocking on doors, and taxi! Everyone deserves to hear our message! It has pushed me to open my mouth, overcome my fear, and just do it with the spirit of course! Now I look forward to talking to people each day and accomplishing my goals!

I know that this is the true church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I know that Christ established this church on the earth and that through his prophet, Joseph Smith, He restored his church again for us, after it was lost for over 1,000 years. I have a firm testimony of the power of the scriptures, especially the Libro de Mormón. This book contains all of the answers that we might have in this life! All you need to do is READ IT!
Best wishes to you all, and I hope you have a miraculous week! Share your joy with others! Make someone´s day! Just like president Monson would say, ¨That would be a nice thing to do.¨ --- you never know, you could change someones life with a smile! Simple acts bring to pass great miracles!

Con Amor,
Hermana Roe

Pray He is there.....speak He is listening

8/6/2018

Hello all!

Okay here is a story of an experience that I had this week, sorry ahead of time if it sounds a bit weird because I first had to write it in Spanish and then translate it....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week I had many experiences that strengthened my testimony of how Heavenly Father listens to our prayers. One of those experiences was when we were returning to Chimbote on the bus. There was an aweful movie playing. I didn't watch the movie, but after this movie ended, it was on the title page and was talking a part of this movie with the title, but this part was in English. So I was the only person on the bus that could understand what it was saying. This phrase continued to repeat every 15 seconds for a duration of probably 30-40 minutes, and this phrase was awful. So, I tried to sleep or something to not listen. At this time I felt very bad and very tempted by satan. Like satan had me in a hug. Then, I decided to pray. I prayed for something to happen and that this audio could be turned off. Two minutes after my prayer, the audio was turned off. I was very grateful and prayed to thank God. Then I decided to read my Book of Mormon. I read Mosiah 7:33 and it spoke to me just like the experience that I had just had. This experience, although started out awful turned out to be a very special experience of an answer to pray and my testimony grew a lot. I know that God hears prayers and is always there to help us.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are every going through a diffult situation, pray to your Heavenly Father and I promise He is there to listen and to help you always! He LOVES you!

Have a great week filled with blessings!

Love always, Hermana Roe
