When you help someone come unto Christ your joy is full!!

Helllllooo! I hope you all had a fabulous week! I did!

So this week we taught a lot of new people which I am really excited about! But I would have to say that my favorite part about this week was Sunday! We had 5 inactive members attend church! A family of 4 and an inactive member of more than 40 years of inactivity! I cannot explain how full my heart felt! It is really true that when you help someone come unto Christ or renew their testimony of Him and find Him again in their lives.. your joy is sooooo full! I understand that scripture now! As missionaries our work is to help others come unto Christ and that includes everyone! Not just investigators! I love this work soo much and I know that my Savior lives and loves each and everyone of us! He is always there waiting for us! Don't let Him down!

I got my GIGANTIC package! thank you soooooo much!! I love you all! Thank you for all of the support that each and everyone of you has given me! Really the people that I am helping come unto Christ thank you too! Have an amazing Week!

Love,
Hermana Roe

Prophet Nelson in Peru

Helllllooo family and friends!!      Oct. 22nd, 2018

I hope that your week was amazing! Mine was! I told you that I wanted to talk a bit about conference in this email... so we got to watch the Saturday sessions with the rest of the world but we had to wait a whole week to be able to watch the Sunday session because it just so happened that on that Sunday here in Peru, they had (votaciones) voting and it is obligatory for every citizen and we aren't allowed to have meetings. Wow was conference amazing! I had the opportunity to watch the Saturday session in English, the morning Sunday session in Spanish, and the afternoon Sunday in English! I love how our prayers and questions are really answered through the messages given!
-  I loved how a lot of the messages were about OUR WILLINGNESS to allow the Lord to help us.  I have been thinking a lot about this lately and if I am willing to permit the Lord to help me. Because really He has all of the tools, help, and blessings that we need, but He is not going to obligate us to receive them. We need to ASK. Ask for His help, ask for the blessings, answers and help that He has for you.
- I also loved how they spoke about the need for us to be His hands, and the  shephards of His flocks here in the earth. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we have the fullness of the Gospel. We have  the truth in our hands, our families, and our  homes. We have felt and received the unending blessings of His Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now it is our turn to help Him in the gathering of his other sheep who  maybe don't know of the truth or of these blessings that are awaiting them. It is our opportunity to share our faith with the world and help in the gathering of Israel! (ministering as the Lord did)
- I was also thinking about how this is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (the church of JESUS CHRIST). How we have allowed other people to use other names such as mormons or lds... I understand that these names are so much easier and faster to say and use. I was thinking about that and how this life isn't easy. How Prophet Thomas S. Monson said it is better to choose the harder right than the easier wrong... really these easier and shorter names have been tools in Satans hands and we didn't even realize it.. He has slowly been using them to confuse the people outside of our religion. As a missionary, this has become VERY prominent. When talking with and contacting new people in the street or their houses or taxis, we have had  people tell us that they didn't know that we believed in Jesus Christ. This is because these people have only heard the name mormons. PLEASE follow the prophet's councel and help others know the REAL name of the church of Jesus Christ. It is HIS church! We don't worship Mormon, Joseph Smith, or any other man. We worship and follow God our Heavenly Father and His beloved son Jesus Christ. READ (3Nephi 27)
- Have you taken the name of Jesus Christ upon you? When other people see you and your actions, do they think of the Savior and His acts and love for others? What can you do to have the Savior in your countenance each day? what do you need to change or better in your life? Just like the song that I love so much.... If the Savior stood beside me, would I do the things I do? Try to think of the Savior at your side each moment of every day, and see the difference it makes in your life. As a missionary we have our commission that states (...my voice is His voice, my acts are His acts, my words are His words, and my doctrine is His doctrine...) EVERY member is a MISSIONARY. Not only those who have a plack. WE are HIS HANDS in these ULTIMOS DIAS. He needs us. How can you show in your acts, and words that you are a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ?
ALSOOOOOOO this week we had the GRAND opportunity....drum roll please...
to have the PROPHET here in PERU!!! He came to Lima for a special devotional for all of the missionaries during the day and then for all of the members the same night! Wow what an incredible experience! No, I didn't have the personal opportunity to go to Lima and be in the same center as Him, but we got to see him transmitted out to our area here in Chimbote! During the missionary devotional, he talked in English with a translator and then with all the members her started with a translator and then stopped and said that he was now going to speak in their native language and he surprised everyone and started to talk in Spanish! Wow how edifying this month has been to have the opportunity to receive messages from conference and these special devotionals with President Nelson! I know that he is called of God. God leads His church through His prophet to guide us in these latter days. We are preparing for the second coming of the Lord and we have a prophet here to help and guide us with the will of the Lord. I sustain the prophet. and I testify that all of His teachings are true and are guided directly from our Heavenly Father who loves each and every one of us!

Update:
-Marli is going to be baptized this saturday! she was able to attend the special devotional of the prophet and also a baptism and she is soooo excited! It is truly incredible to see how her desire to follow the Lord has increased so much and her faith has truly grow and blossomed!
FOOD:
- I ate chicken neck... I didnt really know how I was supposed to eat it.... lol so I only ate the outside where I could find meat... but apparently people each the whole thing and supposively there is meat in the middle... I was like yeah.. I'm good... I'm just gonna eat the outside, don't feel like eating bones right now...or ever..... bleh. ... adventures of food in the mission going strong! My pensionisa (this is a typical plate of peru.) yikess no thank you, I will eat the other food from Peru! haha
WEATHER:
- I literally am so scared for the summer haha... it is warming up here and I am literally going to die. they don't have air conditioning and everyone is telling me that it is blazing sun during the day and then a sauna in the night.... I'm going to be praying and praying and praying... lol
HALLOWEEN:
-they don't celebrate halloween here.. and I love Halloween, so if you have any pics, send them! haha they only have a little celebration for the kiddos here and don't do anything like the states! haha

Miraflores is doing well! The spirit is strong and we are so excited pumped after hearing the words of our dear prophet! Again, if you have not yet, watch conference!! I love you all so much! Have a miracle filled week!!

Scripture: Alma 34:21-25

I'm a Hermana Lider(sister leader)

October 15th, 2018

Hellllooooo alll!

So a couple updates!

- We had changes and I will be staying here in Miraflores and finish training my daughter! AND I am now an HERMANA LIDER (sister leader) too! The Lord is really trying to work on me and shape me into the leader and woman that He sees my potential to become!

- We also now are sharing our area with elders now! It is good because we have a big area and now the elders can cover that area that we couldn't visit very often that is more dangerous! Also, one of the elders in our area is our new district leader and now I am the ONLY american in my District! So it is a new adventure again with the Lord shaping and molding me in the language and culture here in Peru!

Forgive me if there are errors.. the following paragraph I translated from Spanish:

This week we had the opportunity to establish 2 baptism dates. One for our investigator, Marli, for October 27, and the other from our investigator Mily, for November 10. They are so amazing and they are making a lot of progress in the Gospel! With Marli, we have to visit her in a park because she lives with a family she works for. We had a lesson with her in the park about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we invited her to be baptized. The spirit was so strong that we could not hear the noise that surrounded us and it was as if we were in a bubble and Marli seemed to shine with the spirit! With Mily, we taught her about the restoration and she knew everything because she was reading her Book of Mormon and read about Joseph Smith and his testimony. This was a great blessing for her and for us because she fulfilled her commitments and in doing so the Lord was able to prepare her more to receive the message of the restoration and accept a baptismal date! It is amazing to see how the spirit works in us and in our investigators! The spirit is strong here in Miraflores!

-Also, we had a noche de hogar.. (family home evening) with a family where their kids are members but the mom and dad aren't yet and they are our investigators! They are waiting for divorce papers so that they can get married and baptized! I love this family so much!! We talked about temples and did an activity where they put the temple and getting sealed in the temple as their goal!❤

CONFERENCE: I don't have time now, but I am going to send more about conference next week, If you haven't yet, watch it! It will change you life and answer your questions! Love you all so much!!

Fun pics! No letter

October 2nd, 2018

Alyssa didn't have time to write again this week but she did email back and forth with me when I caught her online. She is doing so good and loving her mission and the people of Peru! She loves her companions and loves the gospel of Jesus Christ and teaching those around her. Please keep praying for her! Also she had her P-day on Tuesday instead of Monday because they had a get together with all of the Hermanas in her mission on Monday! So she got to meet up with Hermana Jones, her first companion from the CCM(MTC)

Become a disciple of Christ

Hola!! This week was GREAT!

-We had a baptism of Alexandra! She is so awesome and is going to be an even awesomer member! It was so special to see her enter into the waters of baptism to make such a special covenant with her father in heaven!
-Elder Moscoso of the seventy and his wife Hermana Moscoso came to Chimbote to do procelite with us!! It was such a spiritual experience and proceliting with hermana Moscoso was so amazing! She shows soo much love for the people and was a huge example to me!
- I gave my first talk in sacrament in the field!! It was so awesome! I only had like 3 days to prepare, and I didn't really have much time in between the life of a missionary but wow, with the spirit all things are possible! I felt the spirit so strong during my talk on missionary work and how missionary work really is for everyone! I shared a passage from the (Liahona-Ensign) called "No matter What!" about a 7 year old who shared his experience in sharing the gospel with his friend! This kid isn't even a member yet, but he is sharing what he KNOWS could give his friend hope and joy! It started with a question... (If you have a belief, ask yourself, is it really a belief if you don't share it?) I invite all of you to think about this for yourselves!
Also there is a quote that my teacher in the CCM told me that says,
many come to serve missions, but few become missionaries.
in my talk I changed this quote for todos;
(Many come to follow Jesus Christ, but few come to be true disciples of Jesus Christ.)... Are you a true disciple of Christ? Or are you only a follower?
Some questions to think of in this week! I hope you all have a miracle filled week! I am doing great here in Chimbote! Many blessings! Never forget that your Heavenly Father loves you more than you know!!

Escritura de la semana; Mosiah 3;19 put off the natural man and become a disciple of Jesus Christ!

Les amo mucho!
