Following the Commandments brings happiness!

Hola family and friends,                                      April 22nd, 2019

This week we talked with Sister Damne and she said that everything happened well and she is recovering well and she is excited for her baptism!

We also visited Sister Andreina this week to teach her The Restoration (in a different way). We decided to use scriptures to teach her. It was very special because we had the opportunity to really listen to her testimony and what she knows and feels. She told us part of her testimony of keeping the commandments. She said that when she began to follow the commitments she saw a great difference in her life and many blessings she received when she was faithful. After that she decided to move on and has a great testimony of keeping the commandments and being faithful to God. It was so beautiful! I can not explain the feeling I feels when someone understands and grows in their testimony of this gospel. I love seeing that and seeing the light that she has and how she shines when she talks about what she knows now. In the chapel, she brought her mom and we gave her the Come Follow Me too and she said she is going to do it with her mom while she is here. (Because her mom is planning to return to Venezuela.) Her mom also said that she will attend until she leaves, so we are excited about that too.

It's been a year this month!

                                                                                                           April 15th, 2019

I am doing good! I CANNOT BELIEVE that I am going to complete a year this month! It is just insane how fast the time flies in the work of the Lord! We are finally having success here in Huarupampa and it is just soo amazing! We had a baptism this last Saturday and we are going to have another one on the 27th of a señora named Damne! She is an investigator since 2017! It just goes to prove that the Lord has a time for each of us and she has finally reached her time to make this covenant with the Lord! I am just soooo excited and happy!

Also! Gustavo the 13 year old from my other area in Chimbote got baptized!! I cannot express the joy that I feel to know that he was finally able make this promise with the Lord!

Just pictures of Bautismo de Andreina!

See the miracles each day!

Hola amigos y familia, April 8th, 2019

We have had some experiences while contacting, we are contacting less active in the street by touching doors. A very nice experience we had was after general conference on Saturday. We went to find a reference that the elders gave us. When we got to the street we found that the number they gave us was a whole block ... so we started touching all the doors contacting and looking for that reference. We arrived at one of the last houses and when we knocked, a sister called Nancy Enriquez came out and greeted us. We talked to her and she told us that she is a member but that she has not been attending and that nobody else in her family are members. She started crying and said, I know why you are here, because there is a moment when you feel empty. We felt the spirit so strong and we knew that we needed to know this sister and that she needed to know that God loves her. Just at that moment a sentence from conference came to my mind and I shared it with her. "It is never too late that no person has moved so far from the path that is out of the reach of the infinite Atonement of Jesus Christ, which has no limits as to length or breadth." Then we were able to find the house of the reference and we learned that we had passed her house on the road without touching. I know there is a reason why we did not receive the exact address of that sister and also that there is a reason why we passed her house on the way. The Lord has been preparing his beloved daughter, sister Nancy to return to his flock and through us, his servants, we will be able to help her. This week we had the baptism of Sister Andreina! It was so beautiful and her daughter, Anabel was the most excited person to see the example of her mother. Now, Anabel is more excited to listen and learn more so that she can follow in her mother's footsteps. It was such a beautiful experience to see Sister Andreina in the waters with an indescribable smile. I am so grateful for times like this and the opportunity to be a part of helping the children of God find their flock and meet their maker.

Send me your favorite phrases from conference! What was your favorite talk? What inspired you? Acts of service and love?

I love you all so much I hope that you have a fantastic week and see the miracles in each day by the hand of the Lord!

Food: you wouldn't guess... this week I ATE goats blood.... yeah they eat blood here too.. and I am pretty sure that it says somewhere in the bible that we shouldn't eat blood, but for my sake it wasn't a sin, it was a transgression, because I didn't know what it was... on the bright side.. I am going to have a lot of iron in my blood... woohoo... the weird foods continue... and I survive! Haha

Have a Great week!
here is a pic of the "food"..

The hand of the Lord

Hola!                                                April 1st, 2019

I am sorry, I am alive... I will write you all next week, so much has happened and there are so many miracles here in the work! love you all!

I translated this from Alyssa's Spanish to English so hopefully you can all understand :)

This week we had an unforgettable experience with Sister Damne. She is blind in one of her eyes and had to travel to Lima again to get another opinion before having surgery. Before she traveled, we had an appointment with her and we brought the elders so that they could give her a blessing. After the blessing, we planned to teach her about service and the blessings we receive. After the blessing she told us some questions she had about her reading and also how her experience in the church went when she went to Lima this past week. She told us that the sister she saw told a story of when she received a blessing and improved and also about an accident that happened with her daughter that she knows it was thanks to God that nothing happened. The spirit was so strong when Sister Tello was talking. When she started talking I felt so strong that she had to invite her to baptism, and I started praying for her. (In our fellowship we prayed for sister Damne to know what we needed to do to help her accept a date.) We felt that we had to give her two dates that she could pray and decide.) Then, Sister Tello told her that and gave her two dates on April 13 or 20. With tears in her eyes she ACCEPTED! And she said YES, sisters I'm going to be baptized, I'm going to be baptized! There are no words to describe that moment. We were all crying and the spirit was so strong. She said that she will go to her appointment and depending on the results, she will decide her date. I can not explain the immense joy I felt at that moment and that I feel until now. I know that the Lord creates ways for all of his children and that she had to have this problem with her eye in order to receive a blessing and through this experience she received her response which is her time to be baptized. I am so grateful for the hand of the Lord in this wonderful work.
