Interesting food!

Heyyyy!

Yeah, I am still alive! Sorry I haven´t written in a looooong time! I am really bad with keeping up!

Food update: yeah so I am still alive.. but I have suffered in eating a soup called sopa de Pescado.. or in other words.. FISH SOUP... my pensionista was so excited to tell me what is in it! It is all fish heads! Ground up and liquidated! the WHOLE fish heads.. like the bones, the eyeballs, EVERYTHING, with tomato, garlic, and apple... The first two times I ate it, it was all liquidated so it was easier and I doused it with lemon so the fish taste wasn't so strong... my pensh kept telling me that I had to eat it because it is really good for you... so then we have the most recent time.. this time, it was part fish and the other part baby shark.... but the thing is, the baby shark was really tough and harder to grind up, so there were pieces in the soup.....ughhhh it was so difficult... I ate as much as i could, but just couldnt Heyyyy! yeah, I am still alive! Sorry I haven´t written in a looooong time! I am really bad with keeping up!

Spiritual:

We had another nice lesson with Sister Damne this week. Seriously, I think she understands the scriptures more than I do. We started by asking how her reading was, and she told us that she was reading in 2 Nephi 2 about Adam and Eve and verse 25. She explained how she understood the scripture and that it was part of God's plan that they transgressed. I was speachless. The Plan of Salvation is what we had planned to teach her. It was amazing to see how the Lord is giving her her own revelation on the way with what we are teaching her. The work is really wonderful and I have seen the hand of the Lord so many times in small things! She is progressing quite a lot! She is attending the church and praying and reading every day at 5 in the morning until 6-6: 30 in the morning!  She said that she feels a need to read the Book of Mormon everyday, and she doesn't feel right if she misses a day. Also, we had another lesson with her before this lesson, and I had the opportunity to see how there really are people that need to hear our voices.. my new comp was able to reach a place in Damnes heart that we could never reach. Wow! I love this gospel so much! It is truly amazing when we take the time to open our eyes and heart to see the lord work in our lives! There are miracles in each day! We just have to open up to see them!

Love you all so much! Have a GREAT WEEK! Blessings and prayers!!

Set a baptismal date :)

January 7th, 2019

This week we had an awesome lesson with one of our investigators, Antonio. He is from Venezuela and we taught him about the gospel of Jesus Christ, faith, repentance, baptism, the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. We focused in Repentance and how great a gift it is that we have the opportunity to use it in this life thanks to the Atonement of Jesus Christ! It was so great and helped him a lot because he told us how he feels about stuff he has done in his past and really wants to change his life! We were able to give him a baptismal date for 26 of January! Woohoo!

I love you soooooo much!! Have a miracle filled week!!
Love always,

Christmas miracle!

 December 31st, 2018

Hello All! I hope you all had a great Christmas! I am doing good! I had a good Christmas with my companion before she ended her mission and I sent her home. I want to tell you about the experience I had for Christmas. We went with the elders to one of their converts houses and they had told us that they were going to cook and have Christmas dinner there but it ended up that the family hadn't even arrived and weren't ready so we waited for like an hour. Then we had to leave cause we had to get back to our rooms by 9 and they lived like 20 mins in the mountain... so we ended up calling our President and asking if we could buy chicken. We ended up buying pollo a la brasa (it's like chicken that is cooked over coals I think) soooooo good) and then we left to our rooms. I was feeling a little bit down cause I wasn't really feeling the spirit of Christmas and then the Lord gave me an opportunity to feel it. We were walking to our apartment and there was a lady outside picking through the trash. We said good night and Merry Christmas to her, but when we passed I felt like we just said it in vane. So we went up to our room and had to take out our trash. I told my comp that I wanted to give the lady my chicken and fries. We went down and I walked up to the lady and gave her the food, helped her with her bags and wished her a Merry Christmas. This was my Christmas miracle because in that moment and the rest of the night, my void was filled and I wasn't hungry. I know that God always makes a way for us to be His hands and to feel His love when we need it!
I love you all so much!! Have the happiest of New Years! Set goals and stick to them!! You can do it!!

Alssoooo Christmas here is like the 4th of July! They shoot off a bunch of fireworks, everyone from their streets at 12am! It was such a cool experience! And I hear that they do the same for New Years so we will see tonight! haha

Oh yeah I also wanted to share a quote that I found in my personal study about the holy ghost:

¨We need the Holy spirit as our guide in calm waters so his voice will be unmistakable to us in the fiercest storm.¨ - Elder Larry Y. Wilson

Something to think of, love you all!

On my birthday I ate Guinea Pig!

Hola everyone!

Huaraz is great! it isn't raining as much anymore.. the weather here is nice.. it's kind of sunny and hot in the mornings and then it cools down in the night and afternoons... and even colder when it rains.

Here are some pics:

living cuys (guinea pigs) and dead ones.... I ate cuy for my birthday... it is official... I ate your pet... the big one is named Christian Dominguez and he is a year old, and the other is a baby. They are from the cuy farm that my bishop and his fam have.  The other pic is of the bishop and his family!

I am so humbled

Hola!!!

Wow this week I have been soooo humbled. Seriously. We now have an investigator that is blind, an investigator that can barely walk due to an accident to his foot that he is unable to pay to fix, and many other people who have houses that are only one room, or houses that I as a little kid would've played house in. But each and every one of these people had smiles on their faces and were willing to help other people in need. Wow. I am really having my eyes opened as Christ's eyes to see the love that he has for all of his children no matter what!
This work is truly incredible and I am sooo thankful for this oportunity that I have to be here and to help light this part of the world!
Thank you soo much to the class of Hermana Heins and your letters! I love them sooo much!! Keep lighting the world and look for opportunities to develop Christlike attributes! Love you all!

Trust in the Lord

Hola!

I hope you all are enjoying this Christmas season and lighting the world! If you haven't gotten the chance, watch the light the world videos on lds.org! Each week is different! Send me photos of you lighting the world! I want to see all of you guys out there! Also, the Christmas devotional was just amazing!! I love this season!

In my personal studies this week I have been studying a lot about putting trust in the Lord! Mosiah 23: 21-29 The Lord chastens us because he knows our potential. He tries our patience and faith in this life to help us to grow and learn and reach our potential. If you put your trust in the Lord he will guide you and lift you up. When you put your trust in the Lord, there is no more reason to fear. When you put your faith and trust in the Lord, he will help you to overcome ANY fear. His power defeats fear (the power of Satan). These are just my thoughts from some studies!
I hope you all have a great week! Love you all!
